Dr. Vanek cites his interesting life experiences and background for all his academic and business achievements. His parents are both Czech and emigrated from Prague in the 60’s. Dr. Vanek was born and raised in California. He received a Bachelor of Science degree in the Geological Sciences from the University of California, Santa Barbara, where he was honored with a congressional medal for studies in Antarctic Geophysics with the director of the Institute for Crustal Studies. His doctorate is from Creighton University, School of Dentistry.

Coming from a long line of engineers with family members having worked for TRW, Boeing, Raytheon, JPL, U.S. Air Force…. He has been passionate about engineering and aerospace since his teenage years. Through his profession and working as an advisor to corporations like Sprint Ray & Prometheus, Dr. Vanek received experience in many areas of specialized biomedical sciences. These experiences have put him into a unique position to innovate.

In addition to his clinical work, he also devotes time for philanthropic activities to serve those who need special attention for organizations like The Sheepfold (Sheltering Homeless Women and Children), CHOC, Give Kids A Smile OC, and the Hillside House for the Developmentally Disabled.

Dr. Vanek has had a lot of travel opportunities throughout the Northern and Southern Hemispheres. His travels included research trips to remote areas of Alaska and Antarctica funded by the National Science Foundation (NSF), a medical/dental mission to Uspantan, Guatemala with Helps International, and subsequent travels to New Zealand, Fiji, Chile, and Costa Rica.

In 2023 Dr. Vanek was donating his services with IHE(International Health Emissaries) in Peru. He also received first place in the Society for Technical Communication writing competition for his article: “Remote Sensing Techniques for the Analysis of Antarctic Ice.

Dr. Vanek is a Fellow of the International Academy of Dental Facial Esthetics. His most recent accolade being a Lifetime Achievement Award from the Global Summits Institute.
